FIBC Bulk Bags

Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers (FIBCs), also called bulk bags, Mega Bags™ or totes, are a cost-effective and reliable way to store and transport dry bulk materials. Made from durable woven polypropylene, they offer high strength, efficient handling and less packaging waste across a wide range of industries.

Pair them with a polyethylene liner for added protection against moisture, contamination and product loss. BWI supplies standard and custom FIBC configurations for a safe, consistent flow of material from production to delivery.

Made in Canada or Imported?

BWI can manufacture FIBC bags at our Calgary facility. Most of the bags we supply are imported, which is standard practice in the industry. We make bags locally when it is economically practical, when a customer needs a highly customized bag on a short timeline, or when a prototype is needed. That way you get the best balance of cost, quality and response time for each job.

Stock Sizes

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an FIBC and how is it used?

An FIBC is a large woven polypropylene bag designed to store and transport dry bulk materials such as grains, seeds, fertilizers, powders, aggregates and minerals. It supports efficient handling and reduces packaging waste.

What size bulk bag do I need?

Common sizes range from 35 x 35 x 35 in to 40 x 40 x 60 in, depending on product density, flow characteristics and the weight you need to carry. Tell us your product and target weight and we will recommend a size.

What is a baffle bulk bag?

Baffle bags, sometimes called form-stable or Q-bags, keep a square shape when filled. That makes them a good fit for export and for tight loading space. They are common with Canadian agri-food exporters. BWI stocks standard baffle bags and supplies specialty baffle bags with liners, internal mesh and net baffles.

What is a Type C or Type D bag?

Conductive (Type C) and static-dissipative (Type D) FIBCs are used when handling combustible powders, or where a static discharge could cause a fire or explosion.

What lifting options are available?

We stock 4-loop bags in corner-loop and cross-corner-loop styles, and supply tunnel-loop, single-loop, two-point and stevedore designs for cranes, forklifts, telehandlers and other handling equipment.

Do I need a liner?

Fine powders, moisture-sensitive products and dusty materials often need a PE liner to prevent clumping, contamination or moisture getting in. Liners also help contain dusty products during filling and discharge. Most general-purpose applications do not need one.

Can bulk bags be reused?

Some FIBCs can be reused depending on their safety rating and condition. Always inspect a bag for damage before reuse. We support reuse where it is safe, in a controlled environment, and at the end user’s discretion and risk.
