Construction FAQs

How are bulk bags used in construction?

FIBCs store and transport sand, gravel, cement powder, aggregates and dry additives. They support efficient handling and reduce packaging waste on site.

What are specialty rebar bags?

Rebar bags are typically smaller bags with special features such as additional safety straps. BWI supplies and manufactures specialty bags for all industries.

Do construction materials need liners?

Most general-purpose applications do not. Fine powders, cementitious products and moisture-sensitive materials often need a PE liner to prevent clumping, contamination or moisture, and to contain dust during filling and discharge.

What sizes are used in construction?

Common sizes range from 24 x 24 x 24 in to 40 x 40 x 60 in. Construction bags are often specific to a process or material, such as wet concrete or hoisting materials.

What lifting options are available?

We supply 4-loop, tunnel-loop, single-loop and two-point lifting designs for cranes, forklifts, telehandlers and other job-site equipment.

Can bulk bags be reused on site?

Only if it can be done safely in a controlled environment, depending on the bag’s safety rating and condition, and at the end user’s risk.
