Frequently Asked Questions

What are polypropylene sand bags used for?

Flood mitigation, traffic control and erosion control. They build berms, dikes, levees and barricades that redirect flowing water away from buildings, crossroads, crops, sewers and riverbeds.

How long do they last?

Polypropylene sand bags usually last around a year. Bags with 2,000 hours of UV protection can survive roughly 2,000 hours of direct sun, and may last longer depending on conditions and care.

Where should I store sand bags?

Store unused bags in a cool, dry place, ideally indoors. Keep used bags off the ground, out of direct sun and covered.

What sand should I use?

Washed mason sand works best. It is rinsed, so there is no dust or grime if a bag spills.
